Servo Drive and Motor Matching RFQ Guide for Industrial Spare Parts
A guide for preparing servo drive and motor RFQs with power rating, encoder, brake, cable, voltage, and replacement compatibility notes.
Servo systems should be quoted as matched motion-control components, not just separate part numbers. A servo drive may be electrically available but incompatible with the motor encoder, firmware, brake, cable, or machine parameters. This guide helps buyers prepare a safer RFQ for servo drives, servo motors, amplifiers, and motion-control spare parts.
Send both sides of the servo pair when possible
If you need a servo drive, include the motor model. If you need a motor, include the drive model. This is especially important for Yaskawa, Mitsubishi, Panasonic, Siemens, Schneider, Omron, Delta, ABB, Allen-Bradley, Fanuc, and other motion-control systems where encoder type and firmware generation matter.
- Drive model and motor model
- Power rating, voltage, current, and phase
- Encoder type or feedback connector photo
- Brake requirement and shaft/keyway notes
- Cable model numbers if cables are needed
- Machine urgency and destination country
Why exact model matching matters
Servo replacements can fail when the new unit does not match encoder resolution, communication bus, motor capacity, or control mode. A similar-looking motor may have a different flange, shaft, brake, or connector. A similar drive may require parameter migration or a different setup tool. For urgent downtime, state whether only the same model is acceptable or whether compatible alternatives can be reviewed.
Start from the Servo Motors & Drives category, or search a full model in the Parts Catalog. If the request spans several brands, use the Brand Directory and prepare one mixed list.
Photos that reduce RFQ back-and-forth
- Drive front label and side label
- Motor nameplate
- Encoder connector and power connector
- Existing cable labels
- Machine cabinet photo if a replacement review is needed
Quote path
For exact replacements, send the full model numbers and quantity. For uncertain replacements, add machine details, photos, and acceptable substitution limits. SmartNexMSK can separate the request into drive sourcing, motor sourcing, cable support, or replacement compatibility review before quotation.
Keep the drive, motor, encoder, and cable context together
Servo requests move faster when drive and motor labels, power rating, encoder details, and cable needs are sent together.
